Chat basics
Ordify's chat interface is designed to be your intelligent partner, helping you extract insights, generate content, and streamline your workflows. This guide walks you through the core features so you can get the most out of every conversation.
For tips on writing effective prompts, see the Prompting guide.
Navigating your chat sessions
The Sessions Menu on the left sidebar is your central hub for managing conversations.
- Create New Chat: Begin a fresh conversation. Ideal for tackling new projects or exploring distinct topics.
- Search for Old Ones: Quickly locate past conversations by keyword. Revisit previous analyses, ideas, or generated content without starting from scratch.
- Switch Between Sessions: Seamlessly transition between different active chats. Useful for multitasking across multiple projects or research threads.
Enhancing your prompts with context
To get more precise responses, enrich your prompts with context. Click the "+" icon near the prompt input area to open the Context Menu.
Document context
- Analyze and interpret: Ordify can process content from text, images, diagrams, charts, and tables — including very long documents up to 1,000 pages.
- Seamless integration: Add documents directly from your computer, Google Drive, or your Document Library. You can also find documents shared within your organization.
- Cross-document analysis: Reference a single document or cross-reference information across multiple documents simultaneously.
- Image-based PDFs: Ordify excels at processing PDF documents that contain images, extracting information where other tools may fail.
Image understanding
- Visual processing: Ordify handles image captioning, classification, and visual question answering.
- Multi-image processing: Upload and analyze multiple images at once.
- Screenshot integration: Copy and paste images directly into the text area for immediate analysis.
Add session context
Incorporate the history of previous chat sessions into your current conversation. This lets you pick up where you left off or provide essential background information without re-explaining it.
@mention agents in any conversation
You can call a specific agent from within any chat by @mentioning it by name. For example:
"@SalesFollowupAgent Draft a follow-up email for this prospect based on these notes."
The mentioned agent will take over that part of the conversation using its own tools, skills, and knowledge.
Leveraging tools (automatic routing)
Beyond basic chat, Ordify chat offers a suite of capabilities — like internet search and image generation — that are automatically routed based on what you ask for. In most cases you don't need to toggle specific tools; just describe what you want in natural language and the system will choose the right capabilities.
RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
When your agent or chat is connected to knowledge, Ordify draws on information from your custom knowledge store. Any relevant information is automatically pulled into the conversation — effectively grounding the AI in your specific business data. See RAG setup for how to configure this.
Thinking Mode
Activates enhanced reasoning. Slightly slower, but significantly improves accuracy and produces more detailed, verbose responses. Recommended for complex analysis or when precision matters.
Voice Mode
Ordify features an advanced Voice Mode for natural, fluid conversations.
- Seamless interruption: Interrupt the AI at any time by speaking normally.
- Real-time internet access: Ask the AI to look up information while in voice mode.
- Comprehensive transcripts: All voice conversations are automatically transcribed.
- Customization: Select different voices in Account → Settings.
