What is an agent
Ordify AI is a no-code platform for building multi-agent systems. Think of agents as your specialized AI workforce — each equipped with unique skills, tools, and knowledge to tackle specific tasks. You can tailor agents to your needs by defining their expertise, granting them access to particular applications, and providing them with relevant documents.
Your custom agents are accessible via the left sidebar. Clicking on an agent opens a direct conversation with it. You can also @mention an agent by name in any conversation.
How agents differ from general chat
Agentic AI offers a significantly different experience compared to general-purpose chat:
- Persona customization: You can customize agents to possess a specific personality, tone, and style. Assigning a distinct Role — such as "Marketing Director" — provides focused specifications that improve accuracy and reduce errors.
- Backstory: The Backstory is the set of instructions your agent follows. For example, you could instruct a personal assistant agent to first review new emails, present a draft reply for your approval, and always sign off in your writing style.
- Goal orientation: General conversational AI operates reactively, responding directly to prompts. Agents are designed for proactive, goal-oriented performance — deconstructing complex goals into manageable sub-tasks and taking initiative with minimal supervision.
- Targeted knowledge: Agents can be given specific knowledge sets that augment their behavior. A "Marketing Director" agent imbued with your branding guidelines can generate on-brand content with minimal prompting. See Knowledge for details.
