Understanding Agents on Ordify

Ordify AI is a no-code platform for building multi-agent systems. Think of Agents as your specialized AI workforce, each equipped with unique skills, tools, and knowledge to tackle specific tasks. You can tailor these agents to your needs by defining their expertise, granting them access to particular applications, and providing them with relevant documents. You can even communicate with your custom agents directly within Ordify using "@" mentions.

Your custom agents are readily accessible via the left sidebar. Clicking on an agent allows you to engage in a direct conversation with it. Agentic AI offers a significantly different experience compared to general chat in several key areas:

  • Persona Customization: While general AI assistants like Ordify maintain a broad persona, you can customize your Agents to possess a specific personality, tone, and style that aligns with your requirements. Furthermore, you can assign them a distinct Role, such as "Marketing Director," which provides a focused set of specifications that enhance accuracy and minimize the potential for inaccuracies.
  • Backstory: The Backstory acts as the set of instructions your Agent will follow. For example, you could instruct your personal assistant Agent to first review new emails, then present a draft reply for your approval, always signing off with "Cheers" and mimicking your writing style.
  • Goal Orientation: General conversational AI typically operates reactively, responding directly to user prompts. In contrast, Agentic AI Agents are designed for proactive, goal-oriented performance. They can pursue objectives independently by deconstructing complex goals into manageable sub-tasks and taking initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Targeted Knowledge: General AI possesses extensive knowledge bases. However, you can define Agents with specific knowledge sets that augment their behavior. For instance, a "Marketing Director" agent could be imbued with knowledge of your branding guidelines and references to your company's past articles, enabling it to generate content that is precisely tailored to your brand with minimal prompting.
  • Tool Integration and Usage: A crucial differentiator of agentic AI is its ability to integrate with and utilize various tools and external systems. This empowers agents to perform actions beyond conversation, such as accessing databases or interacting with other applications to achieve a desired outcome. Ordify simplifies this technical barrier, allowing you to connect to over 3,000 applications with a single click. You can also integrate custom tools via MCP for your Agents to interact with your internal APIs.
  • Collaborative Workflows: Furthermore, your custom agents can be integrated into our multi-agent system, enabling them to collaborate as a team to accomplish more complex "Jobs."
